You don’t have to be a plumber to install the SlimEdge non-electric bidet attachment to any toilet.

What is the SlimEdge?

The Bio Bidet SlimEdge is a non-electric bidet attachment that you install between the toilet bowl and seat. During installation, you connect it to the toilet tank hose so that clean water is supplied to the device. Once you turn the knob, water sprays from the designated nozzle to clean your rear or front. You’re able to control the pressure and duration of the spray, and no electricity or separate water line is required.

What is the SlimEdge non-electric bidet attachment good for?

Like any bidet, the BioBidet SlimEdge is an exceptional way to keep clean after using the restroom. Water streams clean better than paper alone, are more eco-friendly, and can help with preventing irritation. Though the SlimEdge is not a prescription, bidet users have noted fewer UTIs and yeast infections with regular bidet use, as well as less discomfort when it comes to hemorrhoids.

The SlimEdge is an affordable way to get these benefits without installing a second water line and ceramic fixture in your bathroom. Unlike a true bidet, the SlimEdge installs into your existing toilet. And, unlike its larger toilet seat bidet like BioBidets Bliss BB-2000, the SlimEdge doesn’t replace a toilet seat, but works with the existing one.

Since you control when and how much to use it, each toilet user can choose whether or not they’d like to use the bidet feature. A universal fit ensures you’ll be able to use it with any toilet.

Product Review

I’ve used several versions of toilet-seat-style bidets. This one is a simple one, with two nozzles and a pressure adjustment, but no other bells and whistles. Nothing wrong with that! The product is advertised accurately. With the simple design comes easy and straightforward installation. As long as you have a screwdriver to unscrew your current toilet seat, you’re good to go.—And you won’t need to add more solar or wind power to operate it.

Unboxing the SlimEdge Non-Electric Bidet Attachment

The SlimEdge comes in an L-shaped box with everything you need to install and start using the product. Inside you’ll find the bidet attachment, t-valve connector, braided metal hose, 2 mounting brackets, 2 non-slip mats, 3 toilet bumpers (in case your seat no longer sits nicely on the toilet), and Teflon tape. A user manual inside provides all the information you need to install the device. A QR code on the box will take you to an installation video which is easy to follow.

Non-Electric Bidet Attachment Installation

The user manual starts out with a description of each part–showing a text description next to an image of each component. Then there’s a page with product dimensions. The following pages include both text and images to guide you through pre-installation, installation, and start-up.

The final pages include tips on cleaning and how to care for the product if it won’t be in use for a while. The manual gives you all the information you need to enjoy the product and ensure your water doesn’t leak all over the floor.

Using your Bio Bidet SlimEdge

Using the SlimEdge is simple. Use the toilet as you normally would. Then, while you’re still seated, turn the dial according to your desire. The dial rests in an “off” position in the center–simply turn it in one direction or the other, depending on whether you’d like the stream to hit your front or rear.

The further toward the outside that you turn the dial, the stronger the stream will be. Return the dial to the center once you’re done. This device doesn’t have a drying feature, so you’ll likely want to use toilet paper or a cloth rag to dry off before leaving the bathroom.

Our Findings

This product works as intended! Since the nozzles are fixed, you may need to wiggle around a little to get optimal cleaning. There is a slight learning curve, and you may need to clean excess water off the toilet seat. Since the SlimEdge connects to the tank’s water line, the water will be the ambient temperature of the pipe.

This works well in a warm climate but may be chilly if you live somewhere with very cold water. The control arm sits quite close to the toilet bowl and is not adjustable, so depending on your toilet and body, your leg might partially cover the controls.

BioBidet SlimEdge Pros and Cons

I am fully convinced of the benefits of a bidet. I’ll continue using the BioBidet SlimEdge. When I’m ready for an upgrade, I’ll look for a model with a drying feature, water temperature control, and an oscillating nozzle.

What we Learned

What is a SlimEdge non-electric bidet attachment?

The SlimEdge is a non-electric bidet toilet attachment from BioBidet by Bemis that is simply installed on your toilet to provide the benefits of a bidet without using electricity, an additional water line, or an additional bathroom fixture. It has a universal fit, so it can be added to any toilet.

How long should you sit on a bidet?

The duration and pressure of the spray will depend on your preference and the messiness of your bathroom visit. Typically just a few seconds will clean you off and leave you with toilet paper that has no marks after your wipe.

Do you use toilet tissue with a bidet?

This is up to personal preference. The bidet typically will clean all debris from your underside. However, you’ll still have water on your body, which you’ll likely want to dry off before you leave the restroom. Using toilet tissue or a designated towel after the bidet will keep you clean and comfortable.

Is a bidet more sanitary than wiping?

Yes, cleaning with water is more sanitary than using paper alone. Using the bidet after urinating, defecating, and sexual activity can cut down on bacteria. Just make sure that you clean the nozzles when you’re cleaning the rest of your toilet.
